The Great Garden Detective Adventure Curriculum
Discover what fruits and vegetables are sweetest, crunchiest, and juiciest through a series of investigations and fun experiences connecting the school garden to the classroom, school cafeteria, and home. This eleven-lesson curriculum is for 3rd and 4th graders.
Joan Martin and Austin Nichols visited Cohen Middle School's Farm to School Corn Day on October 5th where students sampled Cowboy Caviar in the cafeteria. Voting results were in favor of including it in future school meals: 91 voted “I Love It,” 39 said “Maybe,” and 27 said “No Thanks.” One teacher said, “I don’t usually like to try new stuff, but I also want to be a good role model for the kids.
