Cut Down on Added Sugars
Learn how to limit calories from added sugars—and still enjoy the foods and drinks that you love. This handout will show you how.
Youth partnered up on a scavenger hunt around the grocery store! The hunt included naming fruits and vegetables with specific colors, reading nutrition facts labels to find low-sugar cereal, finding three lean proteins with the least amount of fat and comparing two whole grain bread items. One participant stated “This activity is fun! It is making me learn more about the foods that I am eating and I can look at the labels when I go shopping with my mom.” Another participant stated “Wow my two favorite cereals have a lot of sugar in them!”
