Action for Healthy Kids
Action for Healthy Kids envisions a future where every kid is healthy, active and ready to learn. It mobilize school professionals, families and communities across the U.S. to take actions that lead to healthy eating, physical activity and healthier schools where kids thrive.
Over the summer Jackqui Brown and Elena O'Connor have been working hard to try to build a partnership between School 19 and the Emerson Community Garden. We had a visit as part of our Dig in! curriculum over to the Emerson Community Garden at the Ghandi Institute, and the children planted bulbs with Terry Schmitz of Broccolo to learn about bringing pollinators to the garden. The children had so much fun getting their hands in the dirt this late in the season, and truly appreciated the experience!
